How To Add A "Metric" To An Estimate Input Panel AFTER Estimate Has Been Created
Video Tutorial
To add a "Metric" to an estimate input panel AFTER the estimate has been created follow these steps.
1. Go to the desired estimate.
2. Click on the "+" icon located on the upper right corner of the input panel. Input panel is the vertical inputs area located on the left of the estimate.
3. You have the option of adding a design field that's already in your template or add a completely "new" design field. If adding a "new" design field, type in a "name", select the "bucket" it will belong to, assign a value "unit" (SF, LF, EA, etc.) and press "save".
4. Select the desired "input type". Input types can be input fields or slider bars.
5. If you want, you can also type in a "tooltip" which will allow users to quickly identify what this metric is capturing.
6. If the input type is a "slider", you can set "min" & "max" values as well.
7. Select the "group" to which the metric will belong. You also have the option of creating a "new" group if the metric does not fit in any of the existing groups.
8. Press the yellow "Save" button once you are done configuring your metric.
9. You can now use the added metric for any cost field in the "detailed budget" by selecting the added metric from UOM column dropdown(s) for specific cost field(s).
Please note that adding a "metric" to an estimate that has been created DOES NOT automatically add it to your template. In order to use this added metric for future estimates please be sure to make these modifications in your template(s) input panel.
