# How To Create A "New Estimate Report"
Estimate Reports let you assemble a deliverable out of your estimate — a cover page, project overview, cost breakdowns, budget views, bid package summaries, charts and your own written commentary — and issue it without rebuilding anything by hand. Each estimate can hold as many reports as you need, so the owner review deck and the internal cost check can live side by side.
To create a "New Estimate Report" follow these steps.
Navigate to the desired estimate and select the "Report" tab. Any reports already built for this estimate are listed here with who created them and when.
Press the blue "Add Report" button near the upper right corner.
Type a "Name" for the report, and an optional "Description". Ie. name "Owner Review - Schematic Design" and description "Cost summary and budget breakdown issued to the owner at SD".
Press the "Save" button. Zebel creates the report and opens it straight into the report editor.
The editor has two panes. On the left is a live rendering of the report as it will be issued. On the right is the "Report Structure" panel, which lists the blocks the report is built from — a new report starts with "Section", "Overview" and "Cost Estimate" already in place.
To add content, press the blue "Add Block" button and drag the block you want into the report. The blocks are grouped:
Main blocks — "Cover Page", "Section", "Overview", "Inputs", "Cost Estimate", "Rich Text", "Cost Tag Group Analytics", "Cost Breakdown" and "Map".
Budget views — any budget view you have built on this estimate.
Bid packages — "Bid Package Summary", "Bidder Tag Analytics" and "Bid Tag Analytics".
Click a block in the "Report Structure" panel to edit its settings, and drag it by the handle on its left to reorder. The rendering on the left updates as you go.
Use the "eye" icon on a block to hide it from the report without deleting it, and the "three dot" menu for the rest of that block's actions.
Switch to the "Preview" tab at the top when you want to see the report on its own, without the editing furniture. Use "Back to Estimate" to return.
Please note that a report is tied to the estimate it was created from and reads its values live — as the estimate changes, the report follows. Build the report once and re-issue it rather than creating a new one each time the numbers move.
We recommend that users templatize these estimate reports. It is best to generate these estimate reports within the master template which was used to generate a specific estimate. This will enable you to use the estimate report structure for all estimates generated going forth.
