# How To Export An Estimate Report To PDF

When you export a report to PDF you can set the page size, the orientation and the margin, and see exactly what you will get before you commit to it. The finished PDF can go straight to your computer or be attached to the estimate's own "Files" tab.

To export an estimate report to PDF follow these steps.

Navigate to the desired estimate and select the "Report" tab.

Select the report you want to export.

Select "Preview" at the top of the page. The settings sit down the left and the report itself fills the rest of the page, a page at a time.

Choose a "Format". "A4", "A3", "Letter" and "Legal" each show their dimensions underneath so you can check you have the right one.

Choose an "Orientation" — "Portrait" or "Landscape".

Drag the "Margin" slider to set the white space around the report. The current value is shown in the label, so "Margin (40px)" is a 40 pixel margin.

To use a page size that is not on the list, select "Custom" and type a "Height" and a "Width".

Press "Regenerate Preview" to redraw the report with the settings you have chosen. NOTE, the preview does not follow your changes on its own — if what you are looking at still looks like the old settings, press this.

Press "Export" and choose what you want to happen.

"Download PDF" — saves the PDF to your computer.

"Save to Estimate Files" — attaches the PDF to this estimate's "Files" tab, where the rest of the team can find it.

Please note that the settings apply to the export, not to the report itself, so a colleague opening the same report will see their own last used settings rather than yours. If a particular page size matters to whoever receives it, say so when you send it, or use "Save to Estimate Files" so everyone is working from the same PDF.
