# How To Use "Saved Views" In The Detailed Budget
The Detailed Budget can be searched, filtered, grouped and stripped down to the columns you care about, but all of that work disappears the next time somebody opens the estimate. A saved view keeps it. You set the table up once, give the arrangement a name, and anyone who needs that same read of the numbers picks it from a list instead of building it again.
Because a view stores what each column and tag means rather than where it sits, one view works across estimates. A view saved for the whole company loads on an estimate built from a different template, and a view saved on a template comes down onto every estimate created from it afterwards.
To use saved views in the Detailed Budget follow these steps.
Navigate to the desired estimate and select the "Budget & Inputs" tab. The table on it is the "Detailed Budget".

Set the table up the way you want to keep it before you save anything. A view records four things: what is in the search box, the filters set under "Filter", which columns are showing under "Columns", and the levels set under "Group". "Saved Views" is the first control in that toolbar, to the left of the search box, and it reads "Saved Views" until a view is loaded.

Press "Saved Views", then "Save as New View" at the bottom of the list. Fill in the "Name" — this is what everyone else picks the view by, so name it for the question the arrangement answers, such as "Concrete review".

Choose where to save it under "Where to save it", then press "Save View". The three options differ in who gets the view afterwards, so the choice is worth making deliberately.
"This estimate only" keeps the view on the estimate you are looking at, and nobody working on another estimate sees it.
"All estimates" offers the view on every estimate in the company. This is the one for a read your team applies everywhere, such as a standard review layout.
"This estimate and its template" saves it in both places at once. The view stays on this estimate, and every estimate created from that template later starts with it. The option names the template so you can check it is the one you mean, and it appears only on an estimate that was built from a template.
Press "Saved Views" again to load a view. Views saved for the whole company are listed under "Global" and views saved on this estimate under "This Estimate", with a tick against the one currently loaded. Selecting one applies its search, filters, columns and group by to the table straight away. "Default" at the top puts the table back to the way it opens with no view loaded.

Change the table while a view is loaded and an "Unsaved" badge appears beside the view's name. This is telling you the table no longer matches the view — the view itself has not changed, and nothing is stored until you say so.

Press "Saved Views" to decide what to do with those changes. "Save Changes" writes them into the loaded view, "Discard Changes" puts the table back to the view as it was saved, and "Save as New View" leaves the original alone and stores your version under a new name.

Rename, restructure or remove a view from the "..." button on its row in the list. "Edit" opens the view's settings without touching the table, and "Delete" removes it for everyone it was offered to.
To manage the views a template hands out, press the "gear" icon in the bottom left corner to open your company settings, select "Record Templates" under "Configuration", open the template and select its "Saved Views" tab. Each row names the view, its "Scope", and a plain-English summary of what it does under "What It Does".

Press "Add View" to build a view here from scratch. A template has no Detailed Budget to arrange, so everything is set in the panel instead: the "Name", the "Search" text, "Group By" levels added with "Add Level", filters added with "Add Filter", and the columns to show ticked under "Columns". Press "Add View" to save it.

NOTE, a saved view holds the search, filters, columns and group by, and nothing else. Column widths, which rows are expanded and which rows are ticked are not part of a view, so they stay as you left them when you load one.
NOTE, loading a view that names something this estimate does not have does not fail. Anything that cannot be found — a cost tag group, a comp, a bid package this estimate does not carry — is left out, and the message confirming the view loaded tells you what was skipped.
NOTE, "Save Changes" on a view listed under "Global" changes it for everyone, on every estimate. Use "Save as New View" if the change is only for you.
NOTE, saving, editing and deleting views needs editor access. A viewer can load any view in the list, but the options that write one are greyed out.
NOTE, the view you loaded stays loaded. Reloading the page, or coming back to that estimate's Detailed Budget later, puts you back in the same view rather than at the default.
