[Estimates](https://lp.zebel.io/help/estimates?hsLang=en) # How To Use The "Comp Unit Cost Visualization" Comps tell you what similar projects cost. This page turns that into a picture: for every cost category, it plots your estimate against the range your comps set, so you can see at a glance where you are priced high, where you are low, and where you sit comfortably in the middle. To use the "Comp Unit Cost Visualization" follow these steps. Navigate to the desired estimate, select the "Analytics" tab, and choose "Comp Unit Cost Visualization" from the list on the left. Read the chart across the bottom — one column per cost category — and up the side for cost. Your estimate is the yellow target marker; each comp is a colored dot, and the line joining them shows the range the comps set for that category. ![](https://lp.zebel.io/hs-fs/hubfs/cu-01-chart-png.png?width=670&height=349&name=cu-01-chart-png.png) Use the "Total Cost" and "Unit Cost" buttons near the upper left corner to change what is being compared. "Unit Cost" divides each cost by a design field so projects of different sizes can be compared fairly. ![](https://lp.zebel.io/hs-fs/hubfs/cu-04-total-cost-png.png?width=670&height=349&name=cu-04-total-cost-png.png) On "Unit Cost", pick what to divide by from the "PER" dropdown beside the buttons. The list is the estimate's design fields with their quantities. I.e.. PER "Single Rooms", 120 EA. ![](https://lp.zebel.io/hs-fs/hubfs/cu-02-per-png.png?width=670&height=349&name=cu-02-per-png.png) NOTE, the "PER" dropdown only appears on "Unit Cost". On "Total Cost" there is nothing to divide by, so it is hidden. Press "Table" near the upper right corner to read the same comparison as numbers — a row per cost category, a column for your estimate and one for each comp. ![](https://lp.zebel.io/hs-fs/hubfs/cu-03-table-png.png?width=1920&height=1000&name=cu-03-table-png.png) Press a comp in the legend along the bottom to take it out of the picture. It greys out and its dots disappear, which is the quickest way to see the range without an outlier in it.
